Troy Country Club
About Troy Country Club
Troy Country Club dates to 1922, when the course was laid out by Tom Bendelow. Bent grass covers both the fairways and the greens, and the layout mixes water and sand hazards in measures suited to a range of playing abilities, with greens that run quick.
Bendelow, a Scottish-American architect known as "The Johnny Appleseed of American Golf," designed roughly 600 courses over a 35-year career in the first half of the twentieth century, among them East Lake Country Club in Atlanta and Medinah Country Club near Chicago.
