About Woussickett Golf Course, Inc.
Woussickett Golf Course occupies roughly 130 acres on Mason Road in Sandusky, between Route 4 and Patten Tract Road. Bob and Tom Crockett first walked the property in the fall of 1979 and purchased it in 1980 with the intention of building an 18-hole course. A downturn in the auto industry delayed those plans, and the brothers spent the interim walking the land and refining the routing.
The original stretch included eight bunkers across the first six holes and a double green shared by the second and ninth holes — an idea inspired by the double greens at St Andrews and by several courses the brothers had seen in Florida.

The back nine opened in 1985, followed in 1986 by the clubhouse and tavern, which replaced the trailer that had served as a makeshift pro shop and starter station. With all 18 holes in play, the double green became the target for both the 12th and 18th. The back nine was reworked in 1987, and through 1999 several greens were relocated or improved and a few tee boxes enlarged.
