Belmont Country Club

Belmont Country Club sits on land in Perrysburg Township that was once Belmont Farm, owned by William Windus Knight, Sr., who named it after Belmont, New York, the birthplace of his parents. Before golf arrived, the property had a long agricultural life, producing grain and pigs and operating as a dairy farm, and it also served for a time as the Belmont Hunt Club.

The course was designed by Harris, who reshaped the flat farmland by moving more than half a million cubic yards of earth to create rolling fairways and five lakes across a layout measuring 7,085 yards. The par-72 design features large, undulating greens and fairways framed by mature trees and shrubs, with six holes playing alongside water. Toledo-area architect Arthur Hills later made further modifications to the design.
