Ticonderoga Golf Course
About Ticonderoga Golf Course
Ticonderoga Golf Course was laid out by Seymour Dunn, a Scottish-born architect who eventually made his home in Lake Placid, New York. Dunn designed courses throughout Europe and North America and built an equally strong reputation as a teacher, working with notable players of his era such as Walter Hagen and Gene Sarazen.
The club was founded in 1926 with 200 charter members and opened for play on Saturday, July 31st of that year, with instructor A. J. Stearns, then spending the summer at the nearby Silver Bay YMCA, on hand for the occasion.
