About Saratoga National Golf Club

Saratoga National Golf Club in Saratoga Springs, New York, was designed by Roger Rulewich, who was selected for the project in 1996. Rulewich spent 34 years working alongside Robert Trent Jones Sr. before leaving the Trent Jones organization to establish his own design and construction firm, known as The Golf Group or The Rulewich Group.

Saratoga National was the second course Rulewich completed under his own firm's name. Other architects considered for the commission included Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Rees Jones. Rulewich's stated design approach centers on building courses that invite play and reward the golfers who take them on.
