About Ridgemont Country Club
Ridgemont Country Club is a private club in Rochester, New York, whose first nine holes opened for play in 1929, with the second nine following in 1930. The course was laid out on the former Upton estate, where the original apple orchards were gradually replaced by evergreen plantings, giving the layout its classic parkland character.
A major step came in 1955 with the installation of a full-course irrigation system and the reservoir pond it required. Beyond supplying water, the pond created the scenic backdrop for one of the course's most photographed holes.

The clubhouse is built around an 1840s mansion, which retains much of its period character. A dining room wing was added in early 1961, overlooking a swimming pool constructed at the same time, and the club marked its 50th anniversary in 1978 as an established golf and dining facility.
