About Oak Hill Country Club

Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York, is home to the East Course, designed by Donald Ross. It stands as the only layout in the United States to have hosted all six of the rotating men's golf championships, among them the 1995 Ryder Cup and the 1998 U.S. Amateur.

The East Course has challenged leading players for more than half a century, and few have managed to get the better of it. Its championship credentials date back to 1948, when Joseph Dey, then executive director of the United States Golf Association, visited to assess the course as a possible venue for the 1949 U.S. Amateur and remarked that he had seen nothing like it anywhere in the country.
