About Irondequoit Country Club
Irondequoit Country Club is a private club set on 130 acres along East Avenue in Rochester, New York, combining golf with dining and year-round social and recreational activities for members and their families.
The club was founded in 1916, taking its name from a Native American term commonly translated as "a place to turn in," a nod to the region's heritage. Soon after its founding, the club acquired land in nearby Pittsford and engaged architect Donald Ross to lay out its original nine holes, which opened in 1918. Ross routed the holes to follow the natural rolling terrain, and that classic, strategic character still shapes the course today.
