St. Lawrence State Park Golf Course began more than 75 years ago as a private nine-hole club owned by five local golfers. The State of New York acquired the property in the mid-1960s, and it has operated as a public course since.
The layout makes use of long, rolling hills and a pond, and was routed to take advantage of the wide view over the St. Lawrence River shipping channel toward the Canadian shore. That outlook is visible from the fairways as well as from the clubhouse veranda.
Although the course has nine holes, a second loop from different tees allows for a full 18-hole round.
