Its origins trace to two earlier traditions. Mount Kisco's first golf course opened in July 1917 on the former Daly estate just north of the present front nine, adjacent to today's property. Known as Mount Kisco Golf Club and measuring 6,100 yards, it hosted the 1923 Westchester Open, won by George McLean with rounds of 74 and 70 for 144, two strokes ahead of runner-up Joe Turnesa. In the early 1920s, John Lawrence acquired the neighboring Annandale Farms, formerly the country estate of banker and industrialist Moses Taylor.
