About Rock Hill Golf and Country Club
Rock Hill traces its origins to 1964, when a group of 13 golfing friends purchased 438 acres on one of Long Island's highest points with the aim of creating a challenging course open to the public. Among them was architect Frank Duane, who later collaborated with Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Arnold Palmer; his other design credits include Kapalua, Bellerive Country Club and Half Moon Bay Links.
Duane laid out Rock Hill as a demanding but fair test, measuring 7,050 yards and playing to a par of 71 from the back tees. The layout has held up over the decades and still offers a test for golfers across a range of ability levels. The course record stands at 63 for men, set by Peicheng Chen, and 64 for women, held by Zihan Xu.
