Sullivan County Golf Club
About Sullivan County Golf Club
Sullivan County Golf Club sits on the hillsides of Liberty, New York, in the Catskills, and has been played for more than a century. Originally designed by Maurice McCarthy and Len Rayner, the course opened in 1925 as the highest-elevation layout in New York State. Its history includes a 1931 transatlantic flight to Denmark that took off from what was then the 8th fairway, now the site of the driving range.

Ahead of the club's 100th anniversary, the course underwent extensive renovation and restoration in 2024, with a new routing by Craig & Coyne Design. The work added two par 3s with long views and a par 5 that opens up to a mountain vista, along with new irrigation on greens and tees, seeding and topdressing to improve the putting surfaces, and revised cart routing.
The club describes its aim as providing rural, community-oriented golf in the Catskills.
