Craig Wood Golf & Country Club
About Craig Wood Golf & Country Club
Craig Wood Golf & Country Club is a par-72 layout of 6,554 yards set in the Adirondack countryside near Lake Placid. The course is owned and operated by the Town of North Elba, making it a municipal facility.
It was designed in 1925 by architect Seymour Dunn, a Lake Placid resident, and has served as a center of golf in the area for generations. The closing 18th hole asks for a drive carried over a ravine, followed by an uphill approach to a sloping green protected by trees and a fairway bunker.
Surrounding high peaks and open mountain vistas frame much of the round. The club combines its traditional character with ongoing upgrades to the course.
