Olde Oak Golf Club is a walkable course in Kirkville, serving golfers in the town of Manlius and the surrounding area for some 65 years. Multiple sets of tees stretch from roughly 4,600 to 6,900 yards, allowing players of varying ability to find a comfortable length while still facing a test.
The course was designed and built by Bill Grygiel, Sr., formerly a professional at Drumlins, beginning in the mid-1950s. The present front nine opened in 1957 under the name Towne Isle Golf Course, and a second nine, laid out by Bill with his youngest son, Peter, followed in 1966. Bill owned and operated the course until his death in 2005.
In 2006 Peter, owner of The Golf Club of Newport, bought Towne Isle and renamed it Olde Oak Golf Club. A series of improvements have since been carried out, most notably to drainage and seeding.
