About Newman Municipal Golf Course
Newman Municipal Golf Course is a public nine-hole layout in Ithaca, built in 1935 along the edge of Cayuga Lake. It plays to a par of 36 and measures about 3,300 yards from the back tees, with four sets of tees to suit a range of skill levels.
The generally flat terrain makes the course walkable, while pull carts and power carts are available to rent. Sand bunkers and other hazards come into play across the routing. The setting takes in views of the surrounding hills, sailboats on the lake, and nearby Cass Park and Stewart Park.
A pro shop on site handles cart rentals and stocks basic golf supplies such as hats, tees and balls, along with course memberships.
