About Big Oak Golf Course
Big Oak Golf Course opened in 1965, when original owners Jim Logue and Lloyd Aikens built the front nine. In 1979 Graham Sharman bought the course and moved his family from the Albany area to Geneva, running it as a family business with relatives working both on the course and in the clubhouse. Among the earliest projects was planting hundreds of trees, which now line the front-nine holes.
Over the following decade and a half, Sharman acquired several neighboring parcels of land in order to build a second nine. The back nine opened in 1999, bringing the layout to a full 18 holes.

The course has remained in the family: in 2008 Graham's son Dave and his wife Maureen took over ownership, continuing improvements to both the course and the clubhouse, where food and drinks are served.
