About Sunken Meadow Golf Course

Sunken Meadow Golf Course sits within Sunken Meadow State Park and offers 27 holes that can be combined for either a nine- or eighteen-hole round. The first two nines opened in 1962, with the Blue Course added in 1964. All three were laid out by architect Alfred Tull, whose work also includes the Yellow Course and the redesign of the Blue Course at Bethpage State Park.

Tull built his holes around the existing contours of the site, and the result is a somewhat hilly, varied layout framed by mature woodlands. The wooded surroundings give the course a quiet, scenic character, while the practice range looks out over wide panoramic views of the Long Island Sound.

As a state park facility, the course is open to public play, with advance tee times arranged through the New York State Parks golf reservation system.
