Langbrook Meadows began as a retirement project with an unusual scale: in the spring of 2002, John "Butch" Langtry set about converting 175 acres of Langbrook Farms into a golf course and country club. The course and driving range opened in the spring of 2003.
A farming theme runs through the property, which is decorated with antique agricultural equipment reflecting the owner's interest in the region's farming history. The slogan "A Stroke Back In Time" nods to that same sense of nostalgia.
The back nine was added in the fall of 2005, bringing the layout to 18 holes at par 71 and 5,766 yards. Those later holes include three dogleg holes, ponds and wide country views. Rich, sandy loam soil gives the course strong drainage, so it is often among the first in the area to open.
