Southern Dutchess Country Club

Southern Dutchess Country Club in Beacon, New York, traces its origins to the turn of the twentieth century, marking its 100th anniversary in 2002. To commemorate the milestone, longtime member Ian MacDonald, who joined in 1948 after caddying at the club as a boy and grew up in the house across the street from the ninth green, compiled a written history of the course drawn largely from personal recollection, as little documentation, photography or scorecard material from the early years survives.
