Painted Desert Golf Club

Painted Desert Golf Club was built around the notion that the surrounding Nevada desert should shape the golf rather than stand in its way. The club has hosted the Nevada Open and draws both Las Vegas residents and visiting golfers, and it operates as a public course open seven days a week.

The layout was designed by Jay Morrish, an architect known for work across the American Southwest, who routed the holes along the natural contours of the site. Elevation changes, native desert plants, rocky outcroppings and open desert views are used as strategic and visual features of the course, with the terrain itself factoring into shot selection and the desert surroundings framing the tee shots.
