Glenbrook Club sits within one of Lake Tahoe's oldest private communities on the Nevada shore of the lake. The settlement began in 1860 as a lumber town and played a part in the early development of the Tahoe Basin before shifting toward a lakeside resort role around the turn of the 20th century. The Glenbrook Inn opened in 1907 and drew guests including Mark Twain, Clark Gable and Rita Hayworth.
Golf here takes the form of a private nine-hole course set against the lakefront surroundings. The club is member-based and also includes a restaurant reserved for members, along with a year-round schedule of social gatherings for residents and their families.
The community places emphasis on preserving its history while maintaining a quiet, close-knit character, combining access to shared amenities with a largely private setting.
