About Carson Valley Golf Course
Carson Valley Golf Course sits in Gardnerville, Nevada, a town known for its Basque heritage and outdoor surroundings, roughly 25 minutes from South Lake Tahoe on the Nevada side. The Carson Valley area also takes in Minden, Genoa and Topaz Lake, and the course looks out on views of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
The course opened in 1965 to a design by local architect Red Swift. His original plan for the property also included a dinner restaurant, tennis courts and a swimming pool. Swift was likewise the original developer of the adjacent neighborhood known as the Ranchos, now home to many Gardnerville residents.
