The Links at Sierra Blanca occupies the ground once used as Ruidoso's original airport. The par-72 course was designed in 1991 by Senior PGA Tour player Jim Colbert together with architect Jeff Bauer, combining Scottish links-style golf with mountain surroundings.
The front nine plays over rolling fairways and pronounced mounding in the traditional links manner, while the back nine turns into stands of tall pines for a more sheltered, scenic stretch suited to a range of skill levels.
