Essex County Country Club
About Essex County Country Club
Established in May 1887, Essex County Country Club in West Orange is the oldest club in New Jersey and the sixth oldest in the United States. Its founding charter called for the encouragement of athletic exercises and sports, and the club was an original member of the MGA and NJSGA as well as one of the 25 clubs that founded the USGA.
The golf course reflects the work of A.W. Tillinghast, Seth Raynor and Charles Banks. Full practice facilities support the golf program, and junior golf instruction is part of the club's offerings.

This is a private club with a family focus, and amenities extend beyond golf to a swimming pool and Har-Tru tennis courts. Summer sports camps are held for younger members, and the social calendar includes family barbecues, pool parties and themed gatherings.
