Lake Mohawk Golf Club
About Lake Mohawk Golf Club
Lake Mohawk Golf Club is a long-standing fixture in Sussex County, set in the alpine landscape of Sparta, New Jersey. The terrain owes its contours to ancient glacial activity, and the land that now holds the course was once rough farmland and rocky woodland.
The club traces its origins to Arthur Crane and Herbert Claus, the developers behind the surrounding Lake Mohawk lake community, who converted that rugged ground into a golf club in the early 20th century. Close to a century on, successive generations of members have maintained and improved both the course and the clubhouse, with an emphasis on preserving the natural setting around the lake.
