Shackamaxon Country Club
About Shackamaxon Country Club
Shackamaxon Country Club traces its origins to founder Robert W. Nelson, who settled on Lambert Farm while looking for property in the Westfield, New Jersey area. The land's mix of meadows, woodland and a quiet lake suited his plans, and on a friend's suggestion he developed a golf course and club there. The name Shackamaxon comes from a Native American term understood to mean "a place where chiefs meet," chosen in tribute to the people who once lived in the region.
Beyond golf, the club has a resort-style pool complex. An adult pool includes waterfall features, in-pool loungers, a swim-up bar and a pod spa, and the pool area also hosts entertainment and activities for families.
