About Liberty National Golf Club
Liberty National Golf Club occupies a stretch of the Hudson River waterfront in Jersey City, New Jersey, directly across from the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the Manhattan skyline. The private club opened in 2006 under the direction of Paul Fireman, former Reebok founder and chairman, and his son Dan Fireman, and sits roughly a fifteen-minute boat ride from lower Manhattan.
The 18-hole championship course was designed jointly by 1992 U.S. Open champion Tom Kite and architect Bob Cupp. Their parkland links-style layout draws on the site's cultural heritage and its play of light and shadow, with vistas across New York Harbor toward the Manhattan skyline and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
