The club traces its origins to the mid-1950s, when Sid and Edith Lee took up golf and, encouraged by golfing friends, decided to build a course on their unused farm and orchard. Construction began in the fall of 1957, and with help from their three sons, relatives and friends, six holes opened in 1960. Three more holes and a small clubhouse followed by 1963, when the property became Peace Pipe Country Club.
