About Alpine Country Club

Alpine Country Club occupies the site of the former Aldecress course, designed and built in 1928 by architect A.W. Tillinghast at the urging of a group of local civic figures known as "The Forty Millionaires." The original name combined those of the three neighboring towns the property touches: Alpine, Demarest and Cresskill. Set on the Jersey Palisades, the land required blasting through rock formations to achieve the intended routing, making it one of the more difficult projects of Tillinghast's career. The club was sold to its membership in 1960, when the present name was adopted.

A long-range program begun in 2005 set out to restore Tillinghast's original design intent while preserving the landscape and improving turf conditions. The same period brought the renovation and expansion of the Golfhouse, which holds the Golfhouse Grille, a pro shop and locker rooms.

The main clubhouse was rebuilt in 2007 and later updated. It includes indoor and outdoor dining, locker rooms, a children's playroom, a golf simulator, a fitness facility and five har-tru tennis courts.
