About Newport Golf Club
Newport Golf Club sits in the Sugar River Valley in the Dartmouth–Lake Sunapee Region, a short drive from Lake Sunapee Harbor. The par-71, 18-hole layout was designed by Phil Wogan and spans 143 acres, with surrounding mountains, streams and ponds framing the holes.
The Sugar River winds through the property, and the valley's fertile soil supports bentgrass greens, tees and fairways. Parts of the course were cut from mature woodland of pine, hemlock, oak, maple, cherry and white birch, while other stretches run across open former pastureland, creating a noticeable contrast in character between the front and back nines.
