Lake Sunapee Country Club

Lake Sunapee Country Club in New London is a Donald Ross design that plays comfortably for a range of abilities, from experienced competitors to those new to the game. The championship layout was for many years the summer home course of Gene Sarazen.

The club's story dates to the 1920s, when the era's prosperity, a surge of interest in golf, and a striking natural setting came together. In early May 1927, summer residents and townspeople met at the New London Town Library intent on building a quality course, and turned to Ross, then at the peak of his career. He reviewed seven possible sites before settling on the present ground for its soil, its interesting terrain and its scenery.
