About Hillcrest Country Club

Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln traces its golf back to 1929, when the course was laid out by architect William A. Tucker Sr. Early competition on the grounds drew prominent players of the era, including Walter Hagen and Horton Smith, and later decades brought further tournaments and exhibitions, among them a match featuring Arnold Palmer and Gary Player.

The 18-hole layout has a classic character, framed by mature, towering trees in a quiet setting away from the center of town. Among its notable holes are a par five measuring close to 600 yards and a pair of short par threes that call for precision. Practice amenities include a 500-yard driving range along with putting and chipping greens.

The private club also maintains a swimming facility used for social gatherings, swim lessons, and the Hammerheads swim and dive team, which fields more than 100 children in summer recreational leagues.
