About Country Club of Lincoln
The Country Club of Lincoln traces its origins to the conversion of Governor David Butler's mansion into a social and recreational gathering place. By 1910 the property included a clubhouse, grass tennis courts, bowling alleys and a Victorian-style golf course marked by sand pits and "bull-ring" greens. Growth in both membership and the surrounding city led the club to move to a new site in 1922.
Later improvements added a north wing to the clubhouse, a swimming pool and an expanded dining room, while course infrastructure work made the layout a regular setting for local amateur competition. Club traditions include the annual Swingfest member-guest tournament, and membership expanded steadily through the 1970s and 1980s.

More recent additions include a resort-style pool, a Performance Center with a golf simulator for winter play, and a second kitchen serving private rooms. A 2024 Golf Course Master Plan addresses safety, playability, tee equity and larger practice facilities.
