Poco Creek Golf Course

Poco Creek Golf Course traces its origins to the Aurora Country Club, founded in 1922 when a group of local men and women purchased a 47.5-acre tract from Martha Whiting Cassell. Legal title was taken in January 1922 and later transferred to the First Trust Company, which issued 110 trust certificates to raise the funds used to buy the land and to build the original greens, tees and bunkers.

The layout was designed by Stanley Davies, then the golf professional at the Omaha Field Club, though much of the construction work was carried out by the club's own members. In 1923 the property changed hands again, passing to county attorney J.J. Reinhart, and two mortgages financed the building of the first clubhouse — another project largely completed by the membership.
