About The Woods Golf Club
The Woods Golf Club was designed by Ellis Maples, who routed the course through a rolling stretch of Sandhills terrain more than three decades ago. His son, architect Dan Maples, has described the layout as one built with the average player in mind while still holding enough test for stronger golfers, noting its mix of left-to-right shots, short and long approaches, and uphill and downhill holes that follow the contours of the land.

The course was substantially renovated in 2013, when all 18 greens were rebuilt with Champion Bermuda Ultradwarf turf. Multiple sets of tees accommodate a range of abilities; from the back markers the course measures 6,324 yards with a rating of 70.2 and a slope of 133.
