About Tryon Country Club
Tryon Country Club, founded in 1916, is among North Carolina's oldest private golf clubs. The course was laid out by Scottish architect Donald Ross and plays as nine holes, with an additional green and alternate tee placements allowing a full 18-hole round.
Members walk or ride and can choose nine or 18 holes, with little congestion at the tee on any day of the week. The club is owned and run by its members, with a resident PGA professional overseeing operations and a greens staff maintaining the course. Officers and three of the nine board members are elected annually.
