About Raleigh Country Club

Founded in 1948, Raleigh Country Club is the site of the last golf course designed by Donald Ross. In keeping with his approach, the layout emphasizes variety and precision, with no two holes alike and the natural terrain shaping the routing and the demands placed on each shot.

The club drew prominent figures in the game from its earliest days. Sam Snead competed in its inaugural exhibition tournament, and Ellis Maples, who trained under Ross, was the club's first Director of Golf. Arnold Palmer played the fairways regularly during his college years.

Located a short distance from downtown Raleigh, the private club continues to center its experience on golf, family and service.
