About Oak Island Golf Club
Oak Island Golf Club was designed by George Cobb and opened in 1962, winding through Oak Island and Caswell Beach along the North Carolina coast. The oceanside setting brings waterfowl, shorebirds, alligators and maritime plants and trees into play as part of the scenery.
Bermuda grass covers the greens, tees, fairways and roughs. The layout includes 37 bunkers, with water in play on nine holes, and wind is a near-constant factor — its effect visible in the shaped live oaks and yaupon trees that line the course.
Practice amenities include a driving range, a putting green and practice bunkers.
