About Mimosa Hills Golf Club

Mimosa Hills Golf Club was designed by Scottish-born architect Donald Ross and opened in 1929 in Morganton, North Carolina, with the routing shaped around the area's rolling terrain and wide mountain views. A full restoration of the course was carried out in 2002–2003, retaining the character of the original design.

The Blue Ridge Mountain skyline forms the backdrop for play, and seven of the holes return toward the clubhouse. Ross's routing keeps the walk from green to following tee short, and the layout includes short par 4s played to uphill ground, a recurring feature of his work. The club remains a walkable course and also offers dining and leisure facilities alongside golf.

Instruction is a focus at Mimosa Hills, with a junior program aimed at introducing the game to young players; since 2000 more than 20 juniors taught at the club have gone on to play college golf. Head golf professional Jimmy Piercy holds TPI certifications in both general and junior golf instruction.
