About Sapona Golf Swim and Tennis Club
Sapona Golf, Swim & Tennis Club is Lexington's hometown club, centered on an 18-hole, par-71 course designed by Ellis Maples and Ed Say and opened in 1968.
The layout places a premium on shot-making rather than length, with thoughtfully contoured green complexes, strategic bunkering and gently rolling terrain in keeping with the Maples and Say design approach — playable for the average golfer while still presenting interest for low handicappers.
Beyond golf, the club includes swimming and tennis facilities, and Sapona Grill serves food and drinks to members and guests, whether after a round or for a casual evening out.
