Oak Hollow Golf Course in High Point is a Pete Dye design that carries many of the architect's signature touches: railroad ties, pot bunkers, several peninsula greens and an island tee. Small, undulating putting surfaces are perhaps the most recognizable Dye trait on the property.
The signature hole is the 420-yard par-4 sixth, a dogleg left bending around the lake, with an island tee box at the back markers for those willing to take it on. Golfers can cut off as much of the dogleg as they dare, and par is well earned.

The second, a short par 5 measuring 456 yards from the mixed tees, illustrates Dye's risk-reward thinking. Laying up left of the long, narrow green makes par straightforward, but most players go for it in two. Shorter approaches hold best, while longer clubs often run through the green and leave awkward chips.
