About Greensboro Country Club

Greensboro Country Club traces its beginnings to 1909, when a five-hole pitch-and-putt course was laid out on the northwest corner of Summit Avenue and Dewey Street, south of St. Leo's Hospital. The informal course had no membership roll and was open to anyone; early players reportedly hung their jackets on the limbs of a young water oak before teeing off, and some called the tree "The Club House." A first clubhouse was built two years later, a few steps from that oak.

The private club's main clubhouse, on Sunset Drive in the Irving Park area, dates from 1986. A 1969 merger with Carlson Farm Country Club brought a second 18-hole course, a swimming pool and additional tennis courts. The Farm clubhouse was constructed in 1975 after fire destroyed the original building, and was redesigned in 2001 and again in 2017.

Members have access to two 18-hole courses, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a fitness facility, two swimming pools and several dining venues.
