Joachim Creek Golf Course sits in Herculaneum, Missouri, where its first three holes were built in 1928. The nine-hole layout was finished in 1934, and although the course has seen some alterations since, much of the original routing is still in play. The Doe Run Company founded the course as a fraternal organization serving its employees and local residents, and the company still owns the land and continues to support the club.
The nine holes are unusual in their balance, with three par 3s, three par 4s and three par 5s. Four sets of tees stretch the course from about 2,200 yards up front to more than 3,100 yards from the back, giving golfers of varying ability a suitable test. Playing surfaces include zoysia fairways and bentgrass greens. The club is open to public play and also offers memberships.
