River Crest, once known as The Crossings at Montevideo, began in 1923 as a nine-hole course, with a second nine added in 1994 to complete the current 18-hole layout. It sits on the bank of the Minnesota River at the point where the Chippewa River joins it.
The course plays over rolling hills with undulating greens and a moderate amount of sand, and mature trees original to the property frame many of the holes. At 6,207 yards from the championship tees it is not long, but several shots call for strategic placement rather than brute force.
