About Shadowbrooke Golf Course
ShadowBrooke is a public, par-72 course designed by Joel Goldstrand, located along Highway 7 west of the Twin Cities. It was built in 1993 by Tom Schmidt and his father, Elmer, and is now run jointly by Tom and his youngest son, Tyler.
In 2024 the par-4 13th hole was lengthened by nearly 100 yards and converted to a par 5, giving the course an unusual routing of six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s — a configuration not found elsewhere in Minnesota.
The property retains its farm character: the original farmhouse serves as the clubhouse, and several of the original outbuildings remain standing. Staff assist with planning group and corporate outings.
