The Club at Golden Valley

The Club at Golden Valley plays as an 18-hole, par-73 layout designed by A.W. Tillinghast, the classic-era architect also responsible for Baltusrol, Winged Foot, Quaker Ridge, San Francisco and Bethpage Black. Over the years the course has hosted both professional and amateur tournaments.

The design reflects Tillinghast's trademark ideas, including a risk-and-reward character to both tee shots and approaches, and flat bunkers with grass faces that require the ball to be lifted into the air on recovery shots. Tillinghast held that a round of golf should amount to 18 inspirations, and each hole at Golden Valley carries a name intended to be directional, inspirational or cautionary.
