About Angels Crossing Golf Club
Angels Crossing Golf Club lies at the edge of Prairie Ronde Township in the Village of Vicksburg, on glacially formed land northeast of Barton Lake, roughly eight miles south of Kalamazoo. Architect W. Bruce Matthews III designed the course as a modern classic, drawing on Golden Age design philosophies while accounting for contemporary equipment. The layout emphasizes shot values and strategic planning, with bold, dramatic styling that offers golfers multiple lines of attack. Large, heavily contoured greens mean those options shift considerably as hole locations change.

The club is also part of Vicksburg's broader story. Once home to one of the Midwest's largest paper mills, the town saw its main employer close at the end of the 1990s. A group of civic-minded residents responded by developing the golf club as a way to attract visitors and new residents to the community.
