Green Meadows Golf Course
About Green Meadows Golf Course
Green Meadows Golf Course opened over Memorial weekend in 1973. Marion "Spitz" Eipperle and his wife, Helen, began converting part of their farmland into a golf course in late 1971, building greens in what had been a cornfield. Local farmers were skeptical of the idea, but Eipperle pressed on and finished the work in the fall of 1972.
The layout was designed by Harley Hodges, a friend who built, owned and operated Whiteford Valley Golf Course and who passed along advice on running a course that the Eipperle family still applies.

Through the 1970s and 1980s the course drew leagues, outings, members and high school teams. The growth led to an addition to the clubhouse and a new parking lot across the road.
