Apple Mountain

Apple Mountain is a golf course in Freeland, Michigan, in the state's Great Lakes Bay Region. The par-72 layout was designed by architect John Sanford and plays over gently contoured terrain, with wide fairways and smooth greens set against the surrounding landscape. Four sets of tees allow the course to be played at a range of lengths.

The round opens with a short par 4 that bends slightly to the right, where the left-center of the fairway provides the best angle into the green. Elsewhere the design asks for more accuracy: one hole is bordered along its full right side by water, with bunkers down the left leaving little room to miss, and deep bunkers protecting the putting surface.
