About Hiawatha Sportsman's Club Golf Course
The golf course at Hiawatha Sportsman's Club dates to the club's earliest years of development, which began shortly after the land was purchased in the 1920s. Among the first structures raised on the property were Cranberry Lodge (1927), a log hunting lodge above Cranberry Lake, followed by Manitou Lodge and Mudjekeewis Dining Hall (1931), named for the property's Ojibwa associations, along with the original club office and rental cabins on Lake Millecoquins.

The course's entrance on US-2 was built in 1956, and the current pro shop followed in 2003. Other club additions over the years include a trap range, hiking trails, fishing areas, an office building (1958) and an Activities Building (1965). The club has grown by more than 10,000 acres across its history and has repurposed several original buildings, with Manitou Lodge now serving as a museum.
